Aer Lingus, British Airways and KLM are just few of the airline carriers who have added either new services or additional seats to increase winter season capacity to Barbados allowing even more UK and European travellers to enjoy some winter sun and experience our beautiful island.

Commencing October 31, Aer Lingus is set to significantly increase its services from Belfast to parts of the UK with the Belfast to Manchester flight connecting with the airline’s new direct flight from Manchester Airport to Barbados. For the first time, Northern Irish customers will enjoy greater connectivity to the Caribbean. The Manchester to Barbados route will operate three flights per week, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, through to the end of April 2022.

British Airways also earlier announced it will be adding an extra 3,000 seats on its Bridgetown route over Christmas and the New Year. The UK carrier will also be adding a flight from Heathrow to an existing service from Gatwick on six dates in December and four in early January in order to boost connectivity for inbound and outbound travel. The route will see an aircraft upgrade to Boeing 777-300, giving business class passengers the opportunity to book the recently introduced Club Suite offering more premium seats. The additional service from Heathrow will run on weekends commencing December 11 through January 09.

Dutch carrier KLM has also launching its new flights to Barbados just recently this October, operating between Amsterdam’s Schiphol and Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport. KLM is adding over 20,000 seats from Europe to Barbados over five months, marking an exciting return for KLM to Barbados after a more than two-decade hiatus. The Amsterdam-Barbados flight takes around nine hours and 20 minutes and will be operating twice weekly, with flights on Saturdays and Mondays.

In a recent press conference, Barbados’ Tourism Minister, Lisa Cummins also shared that Barbados will be getting flights from German carrier Lufthansa this winter season. With this exciting news, our warm and hospitable teams at Port Ferdinand and Saint Peter’s Bay look forward to welcoming both new and returning guests to our remarkable island where they are certain to feel right at home.
